HUDO Centre Date: 12th July 2021 No. H.K/UA/12/021 URGENT APPEAL UPDATE (3) OF DEATHS AND CAUSALITIES OVER TRIBAL FIGHTS IN KOLOGI, SUDAN On 9th July 2021, another tribal conflict (attack) happened in Kologi causing death of twenty (20) people and many injuries. All this happened with no intervention from the authorities (government/ security). On 9th July 2021, armed people from Kologi residents attacked Dar Ali/ Hawazma tribe nomadic camp near Kologi town and killed nineteen (19) people and injured many others. On the side of the attackers (Kologi residents), one person died and another one got injured. Some of the killed people are: Mohammed Abduelgadir, Mukhtar Adam Abduelraheem, Gargar Mahmoud, Abdalla Mahmoud, Elfadil Mahmoud, Abduelkarim Ali, Abduelgadir Mohammed, Ibrahim Abduelraheem, Khawagi, Ahmed Abdalla Mahmoud and MukhtarElsafi. According to Kologi residents, there was an agreement and decision made by the state security committee concerning Dar Ali people. It was agreed that they should to relocate (shift) out of Kologi area by 7th July 2021. This decision was in response to a request raised by Kologi residents concerning insecurity caused by Dar Ali. On the night of 6th July 2021, some people from Dar Ali nomad camp shot three projectiles which fell at Jabarouna neighbourhood of Kologi town. The following day, Kologi residents of many tribes including Kawahla, Kenana and others organized and attacked Dar Ali nomadic camp. This attack occurred while Sudan Armed Force watched but did not intervene to stop the attack. Currently, the situation in Kologi is volatile and needs real government intervention. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the situation of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon:  Sudan government to urgently solve the tribal conflict and the insecurity situation in Kologi.  Sudan government to ensure the rule of law, safety of people and their properties.  Sudan government to hold to account the security committee in South Kordufan State.  Sudan government to dissolve the government militias and disarm people with unlicensed firearms.
