On 22nd January 2019 early morning, a group of armed soldiers dressed in the uniform of National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) arrested six youths from their homes and Dilling town/market. They were taken to unknown place. No reason was given for their arrest but it’s suspected to be in connection with the announced (planned) visit of the president to Dilling town. The names of those who were arrested from their homes are; Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Abouhum, 43 years old, trader; Mr. Mohammed Belal Elzain, 27 years old, graduate and Mr. Mohammed Edris Elgedail, 23 years, student. Those who were arrested from the town/market are: Mr. Abdalla Mergani Goufa, 24 years old, student; Mr. Elzain Mohammed Elsadiq, 30 years old graduate; Mr. Saif-Eldin Elhasab, 32 years, graduate. In the evening of that day (22nd January 2019) the families of the arrested people went to NISS office to inquire about their fate. But they were chased away and denied any information about them. This raised more fear that they could be undergoing tortured. HUDO is very concerned about the youths/ students during this current situation of demonstrations and calls upon;  Sudan government to disclose the whereabouts of the detained youth and to allow family and lawyers to visit them.  Sudan government to respect its international obligations of human rights.  NISS authorities at Dilling to immediately release them unconditionally or to present them before courts of law if there is a genuine case against them.
