AHMED FADUL IN ALERI GHAREB, SUDAN On 4th May 2023, Mr. Ahmed Fadul was arrested by a group of Sudan Armed Force (SAF) soldiers in Aleri Ghareb/ West. He was accused of insulting the Sudanese Armed Forces. He has been held incommunicado at the military base and there is fear that he could be undergoing torture. On 4th May 2023, Mr. Ahmed Fadul Fadelalla was arrested by Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) from his house in Aleri Ghareb/ West. He was arrested shortly after a casual discussion he had with one of the soldiers. According to the victim/ Mr. Ahmed, he expressed his opinion concerning the ongoing war (between SAF and RSF) during the friendly (casual) discussion with one of the SAF soldiers at Aleri Ghareib market. During their discussion with the soldier, the victim said that "the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) soldiers were taking an upper hand against Sudan Armed Forces". On arriving at his home, the victim was arrested immediately by SAF Military Intelligence (SAF - MI). They accused him of insulting and offending the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF). Since then, he has been detained and his family or lawyers could not be allowed to visit him. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan within this terrible period and calls upon:  Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) in Aleri Ghareib to immediate release Mr. Ahmed Fadul Fadelalla without any conditions or refer him to the courts of law if there is a case to answer.  The SAF commandant in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to investigate the circumstances around Mr. Fadul’s arrest by SAF in Aleri Ghareib and to make the findings public.  The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) to stop the arrest of civilians.
