HUDO Centre Date: 6th February 2025 No.: H.K/UA/01/025 URGENT APPEAL THE JSC ARRESTED MR. JAMAL IN DAMAZIN, SUDAN On 19th January 2025, the Joint Security Cell (JSC) arrested Mr. Jamal-Eldin (Wad Elradeya) and took him to unknown place which raised the fear that he could be undergoing torture. The reason of his arrest remains unknown. On 19th January 2025, the Joint Security Cell (JSC) soldiers in Damazin arrested Mr. Jamal-Eldin Mohammed Ali Ibrahim (known as Jamal Wad Elradya) from his house without giving a reason. Since then, they have been holding him incommunicado and his family and friends do not know his whereabouts. All security organs claim not to be responsible for his arrest and whereabouts. This raised fear that he could be undergoing torture. An activist from Damazin informed HUDO Centre that; “currently, arrest operations are intensive and they are conducted by the JSC”. HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:  The Joint Security Cell (JSC) in Blue Nile State to immediately disclose the whereabouts of Mr. Jamal-Eldin.  The JSC to immediately and unconditionally release Mr. Jamal-Eldin or send him to the courts of law.  The security committee in Blue Nile State to investigate the circumstances that led to the arrest of Mr. Jamal-Eldin and make the report public.  The JSC to stop the arrest of civilians.
