More information: Mr. Mohamed Osman Al-Bashir (36 years old) is married and a father of two children. He was a former policeman and now working as a trader. Originally, he is from South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains and lives in Al-Saliheen neighborhood in El-Obeid city. El-Obeid is the capital city of North Kordofan State. On 10th March 2024, the Sudan government in Port-Sudan made amendments of the GIS Act that gives the GIS member and their allies the impunity, power of arrest and inspection which was challenged by the civil society organization. Interestingly, these powers were revoked sometime back by the transitional government.
