HUDO Centre Date: 30th March 2023 No.: H.K/PS/11/023 PRESS STATEMENT (For immediate release) RSF SOLDIERS SHOT, INJURED AND ROBBED CIVILIANS NEAR KADOGLI, SUDAN On 9th February 2023, two armed and masked RSF soldiers shot at travelling civilians near AlHamra village and robbed them of their money. As a result of shooting, one of the travelers was injured. The case was reported to Kadogli police but there was no response. On 9th February 2023 two civilians (Mr. Omer Zakaria Alrehaima Angalo and Mr. Sedig Dalami) were traveling from Um-Serdeba to Kadogli using a tuk-tuk. They were obstructed (stopped) by two (2) armed persons dressed in Rapid Support Force (RSF) uniform and their face covered with mask, at a place between Al-Hamra and Kadogli. In the process of stopping the travelers, the RSF assailants shot at them and then robbed them of their money amounting to 1700000 SDG = $2900 USD (approximately) and thereafter disappeared. As a result of shooting, Mr. Omer Zakaria was injured on his right thigh. Later, the two victims were rescued by Sudan Armed Force (SAF) who were on patrol. They took them to Kadogli hospital where the injured victim was treated. The case was reported by the victims to Kadogli central police but police did not investigate this case ever since. Mr. Omar Zakaria Alrehaima Angalo is (35 years old) and Mr. Siddig Dalami is (60 years old) and both are traders. Al-Hamra village is located 20 km on the south of Kadogli town in South Kordufan State. HUDO Centre is deeply concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon:  The Police in South Kordufan State/Nuba Mountains to carry out their duties responsibly and investigate this case.  The prosecutor in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to safeguard the rule of law.  The security committee in South Kordufan State/Nuba Mountains to dissolve and disarm militias and ensure the safety of civilians.
