HUDO Centre Date: 26thJuly 2020 No. H.K/PS/30/020 UPDATE RSF FORCEFULLY OCCUPIEDSCHOOL FACILITIES AND USED THEM FOR MILITARY TRAINING IN KADOGLI, SUDAN Since 14thJune 2020, the RSF in Kadogli has been occupying the facilities of Elzahraa school for girls which they turned into a military training centre. The state government did not resolve the issue and civilians are not allowed to access the school. On 16th July 2020, a group of youth from Kadogli resistance committee met with the state governor in order to address the issue of the school. The state governor promised to solve it but, now it’s more than a week after that meeting, the school is still occupied by the military and civilians are not allowed even to come closer to the school. An activist in Kadogi informed HUDO that, Elzahraa pupils of class eight (8) who are supposed to be sitting for Grade Eight Exams have been transferred to other schools yet Elzahraa school was nominated to be one of the exams’ centres. This means that the state government is not willing or is not able to send away the RSF soldiers. HUDO is very concerned about the behavior of RSF in Nuba Mountains/ South Kordufan and calls upon Sudan Sovereign Council, the prime minister, and the federal minister of education to;  Immediately investigate this case and to solve it  Hold to account the RSF commandant who committed this unlawful act  Consider the rights of girl child to education  Compensate the school and renovate/repair any kind of physical damage caused  To dissolve and disarm PDF/RSF militias.  Sudan government to respect its international obligations of SDGs and safe schools declaration.
