ALI BY UNKNOWN PERPETRATOR IN ALERIGHAREIB, SUDAN On 28th February 2025, Mr. Ali Al-Shareif was found dead near Aleri-Ghareib hospital. The perpetrator has not been identified as well as the reason behind the murder. The murder case was reported at Aleri police office but, police did not carry out investigations. On 28th February 2025 morning hours, the dead body of Mr. Ali Al-Shareif was found by passersby near Aleri-Ghareib (Aleri west) hospital. The well-wishers took the dead body to the hospital and they informed the police and his relatives (since some of them recognized the dead body). The family of the deceased filed a case of murder against anonymous at Aleri-Ghareib police office before the burial. According to the medical report (postmortem) the cause of death was wounds from abdominal stabs. By the time of releasing this statement, the police at Aleri-Ghareib had not conducted any investigations to disclose the perpetrator (killer). Mr. Ali Al-Shareif Wedaa is 32 years old and self-employed. Aleri-Ghareib is the main town of Aleri locality in South Kordufan state. HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety and security of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:  The security agencies in Aleri locality to protect civilians and their property.  The security committee in South Kordufan state to investigate the misconduct of the police.  The prosecutor in South Kordufan state/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law.  The police in Aleri locality to conduct their duty responsibly and investigate this case.
