HUDO Centre Additional Information: Abu Jibaiha is the capital of Abu Jibaiha Locality, located in the eastern region of South Kordofan State/ Nuba Mountains. Mr. Ahmed Mohamed El-bukhari (27 years), is a member of Abu Jibaiha Resistance Committees and a community/ political activist. He owns an internet café using the Star-link which provides internet service for the public users. Since the war started in April 2023, all the networks have been inactive and star link is widely used allover Sudan instead. Mr. El-Bukhari was arrested because he wrote and posted on his Facebook page criticizing Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan for his statement, in which he said, "From today, glory will be to the gun, not to the tyres." This is a clear intention to the continuation of the war and undermining the revolution values. This is because during the December revolution, the demonstrators used to burn tyres (lasatik) in closing streets for demanding the resignation of former President Omar alBashir and also used later when Gen. Al-Burhan dissolved the transitional government. The said post can be found here.
