HUDO Centre Date: 26th November 2018 UPDATE (3) ON YOUTH ASSOCIATION IN TALODI UNDERGOING INJUDICIOUS TRIAL A court session was held on 21stNovember 2018, in which the judge delivered the verdict/ judgment towards the five members of Talodi Youth Association for Development. The court session was held on 21stNovember 2018 at Talodi town court. During this court session, the justice delivered the verdict towards the five members of Talodi Youth Association for Development, who had been arrested for critiquing the use of cyanide by gold mining companies without taking the precautionally measures. The justice found four of them innocent and charged one member (Mr. Mahgoub Mahmoud Jegir), 34 years a self-employed with fine of five hundred Sudanese pound (SDG 500 = $10). Those who were found innocent are:  Emam Ali Hussein, 28 years old, Laboratory technician and the vice president of the association.  Elnaeem Abdelmoneim Alnour, 26 years, university student and the secretary of the association.  Shawgei Elamein Kaloul, 30 years, graduate/ self-employed and association’s member.  Hamdan Yagoub Azaz, self-employed and association’s member. HUDO calls upon;  Sudan government to consider issues raised by the youth and community concerns  Talodi locality authority to value the community’s interests/ concerns and to stop intimidating them when they demand for their rights.
