HUDO Centre Date: 28th July 2024 No.: H.K/PS/12/024 PRESS STATEMENT (For Immediate Release) RSF BRUTALLY ATTACKED ABU AL-HASSAN VILLAGE IN ABUKERSHOLA LOCALITY, SUDAN On 19th July 2024, Rapid Support Forces attacked Abu Al-Hassan village, killed thirteen (13) people, injured others, looted and burnt down the houses. The attackers accused the residents of this village that they participated in stealing the cattle from the tribemates of the RSF militia. No action was taken by the authorities. On 19th July 2024 at 5:00 AM (Sudan local time), Rapid Support Forces (RSF) armed soldiers came with motorcycles and attacked brutally Abu Al-Hassan village. The attackers were from Hawazma tribe and they gathered from Umbrembeta and Abu Kershola areas purposely for this attack. They violently attacked the village, shooting randomly, looting the residents’ properties and burning the houses. As a result, thirteen (13) civilians were killed, six (6) others were injured, two (2) people missing, all the victim from Nuba/ Tagoe tribe. They also looted the following; two hundred and sixtyseven (267) cows, eight (8) motorbikes, three (3) tuk-tuks and three (3) bicycles. Many houses were burnt down and the village residents were displaced/ fled to the surrounding mountains. The reason behind was the attackers (RSF) accused the village residents of stealing a herd of cattle from their tribemates (Hawazma). No action was taken by the security authority to defend the residents of this village and their property. Below are the names of the dead, injured, and missing people: The names of people (residents) who were killed are; Mr. Adam Babikir Osman (Jabu), Mr. Youssif Adam Jadalla, Mr. Osman Edris Osman, Mr. Osman Omer Ibrahim, Mr. Abdalla Mohammed (Abu Shanab), Mr. Makki Haroun Adam, Mr. Yaqoub Abdalla Hassan, Mr. Ibrahim Zakaria Ibrahim, Mr. Siddiq Ahmed Khalil, Mr. Abu Al-Hassan Adam Abu Al-Bashar, Mr. Asim Juma Abdulla, Mr. Abu Obaida Adam Abdalla, and Mr. Abduelraheem Edris. The names of injured people (residents) are; Mr. Abdeen Youssif Adam, Mr. Ezzeldin Abdalla Abduelkarim, Mr. Obaid Abdalla Saeed, Mr. Al-Rabie Suliman Yahya, Mr. Adam Khalil Abu Groun, and Mr. Osman Kurdaf.
