HUDO Centre Date: 11th October 2023 No.: H.K/PS/33/023 UPDATE ON SAF ARRESTED MR. AL-RASHID FARAJ-ALLAH IN KADOGLI, SUDAN Since 4th August 2023, Mr. AL Rashid Musa Faraj-Allah has been held incommunicado by Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) in Kadogli. SAF accused him of being a secret agent (spy) of SPLA-N. currently his whereabouts remained unknown On the morning of 4th August 2023, seven (7) soldiers from Sudan Armed Forces came with a military vehicle and arrested Mr. AL-Rashid Musa Faraj-Allah from his work place (where he makes charcoal) at Kohleeyat village near Kadogli town. They accused him of spying for the Sudan People's Liberation Army – North (SPLA-N). By then, he was taken and detained (incommunicado) at Kadogli military base. Since then, SAF soldiers have not allowed family member and lawyers to visit him. This raised fears that he could be undergoing torture. Currently, his whereabouts are unknown. HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:  The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) to disclose the whereabouts of Mr. Al-Rashid Musa Faraj-Allah  The SAF in Kadogli to immediately release Mr. Al-Rashid Musa Faraj-Allah unconditionally or refer him to the courtS of law if there is a genuine case against him.  The commander of SAF in South Kordofan state/ Nuba Mountains to investigate the circumstances that led to the arrest of Mr. AL Rashid Musa, his whereabouts and make the results public.  The Sudanese Armed Forces to stop arresting civilians arbitrarily.
