1 SECTION ONE: INTRODUCTION 1.1 Introduction This report documents and highlights the violations and abuses that HUDO Centre managed to record in the government controlled territories of South Kordufan (SK) and Blue Nile (BN). The period covered in this report is from 1 st January 2022 to 30th June 2022.HUDO has got very limited access to SPLA-N controlled area. The report also includes some incidents that were mainly associated with the internally displaced people (IDPs) from the two areas (SK and BN). The report is composed of interrelated sections; the introductory section, the body which contains the stated violations/ abuses and the recommendations. The last section contains appendices with supporting documents that relate to the stated violations and narrative. 1.2 About HUDO Human Rights and Development Organization (HUDO Centre) is an independent, nongovernment, non-partisan and non-profit making organization based in KampalaUganda. HUDO Centre is currently undertaking monitoring of human rights situationin Sudan. This includes the conditions and rights of civilians in conflict areas, religious rights, freedom of expression and other violations. HUDO Centre also observes the human rights related cases that are before courts of law and advocates for the rights of vulnerable people. Our focus is on areas under the control of Sudan government in South Kordufan (SK) and Blue Nile (BN) States together with the IDPs from the two areas. HUDO Centre also has a special program on refugee issues. In order to implement this task, HUDO Centre trains human rights monitors based in SK and BN to improve their capacity to monitor, document and report on violations and abuses taking place.
