2.1.15 Arrest of Mr. Ezzeldin Alnaeem by SAF in Damazin On 15th August 2024, Sudan Armed Force (SAF) soldiers arrested Mr. Ezzeldin Alnaeem (33 years old) is a government employee at the state ministry of social affairs)6 from his office at the state ministry of social affairs in Damazin. He was taken and detained at the Military base of SAF where the military Intelligence (MI) department is situated, there were many other detainees within a closed yard (named; Hoosh Alestekhbarat/ the MI fenced yard). The cause of his arrest was a dispute between him and SAF’s mobilized soldiers concerning the amount of aid and its distribution within the state. The mobilized soldiers (Almustanfareen) had requested him to shift the aid to the military group of which he rejected and instead distributed it (aid) to centres of internally displaced persons (IDPs). The SAF officers got irritated and arrested him thereafter. On 22nd August 2024, Mr. Ezzeldin was released unconditionally. 2.1.16 Arrest of Mr. Eihab Bashir by JSC On 13th October 2024, Mr. Eihab Bashir (33 years old, governmental employee) was arrested from his house by the JSC soldiers in Damazin. He has been detained at the JSC detention, interrogated about his relation and communication with Mc. Abu-Shotal and then on 5th November 2024, he was released. 2.1.17 Arrest of two Resistance Committee members by JSC and MI On 19th October 2024, Mr. Yusri Elshazali and Mr. Mohammed Medani were arrested by the JSC in Damazin. They were detained at the MI fenced yard up to 26th October 2024 when they were released. The two youth are active members within the RC in Damazin. They were interrogated about their relation with some people who have joined RSF like Mc. Abu Shotal and then after they were released on 26th October 2024. On 4th November 2024, Mr. Yusri was summoned by SAF/MI and interrogated about more names of some youth who have joined RSF and released late evening hours. 2.1.18 The Joint Security Cell summoned and intimidate a social worker On 17th December 2024, the Joint Security Cell (JSC) in Damazin summoned Ms. Esraa Hassan Amein Ahmed the CEO of the Sudan Civic Lab organization, interrogated, her cell phone searched and ordered her to report to their office on daily basis. She kept on reporting daily up to the 29th December 2024.
