1.8 Methodology With difficult, the field monitors managed to gather information and reported about incidents from areas where they could gain access physically and sometimes remotely. This is because HUDO Centre’s network of field monitors and focal people within SK and BN were also affected by the war situation. Some were displaced within Sudan and others fled the country to neighbouring countries. During the collection of data (information) different methods were used. The information from the field was critically analyzed by a reporting panel at Kampala office. The panel used analytical methods to sort the information in order to arrive at accurate findings which were included in this report. HUDO Centre also used the following methods to collect and verify the data/ information;  Interviewing of victims, their relatives and witnesses  Using data collection forms  Getting comments from professionals (Lawyers, Doctors e.t.c)  Verification of documents  Very limited use of open sources.  Analysis of official declarations /statements, reports and media articles 5
