HUDO Centre Date: 20th July 2023 No.: H.K/PS/22/023 ‫‏‬ UPDATE ON SAF ARRESTED MR. MOHAMMED IBRAHIM IN ABU-JIBAIHA, SUDAN On 11th July 2023 Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) released Mr. Mohammed Abduelkarim Ibrahim from their detention at Abu-Jibaiha military base. He was released with conditions and compelled to sign a pledge. He was released after detaining him incommunicado for more than two weeks. On 11th July 2023, Sudan Armed Force (SAF) in Abu-Jibaiha released Mr. Mohammed Abduelkarim Ibrahim from their detention at the military base. He was release under conditions whereby, he had to sign a pledge form declaring that he will not leave the town of Abu-Jibaiha and must report to the military base on a daily basis. Mr. Mohammed was detained incommunicado for more than two weeks in a bad detention cell with poor ventilation. While in detention, he was poorly fed and had to undergo physical and psychological torture. Currently, he is reporting daily at the military base which affects negatively his other activities and job (work). Mr. Mohammed Abduelkarim Ibrahim was arrested on 25th June 2023 by four (4) SAF soldiers at Jabel-Elomda check point. At the time of his arrest, Mr. Mohammad was on a commercial vehicle coming from Tembaira village after attending its weekly market. The soldiers forcefully took him on their vehicle up to Abu-Jibaiha military base. They accused him of belonging to Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army-North (SPLM/A-N). HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of the civilians in Sudan during this difficult time of fighting (conflict) between SAF and RSF and calls for the following;  The Sudan Armed Forces in Abu- Jibaiha to stop coercing Mr. Mohammed to report at their base on a daily basis  The commander of SAF in the state of South Kordufan to investigate the circumstances of the arrest of Mr. / Mohammed Abduelkarimin in Abu Jibaiha and make the report public.  Sudan Armed Forces to stop arresting civilians arbitrarily End: For more information please write to hudo2009@gmail.com
