Date: 2nd February 2019 No. H.K/UA/06/019 URGENT ACTION UPDATE ON ARREST OF ALTARTAR AND DILLING, SUDAN On 29thJanuary 2019, president of Sudan announced the release of all detainees though many are still under detention including Altartar and Dilling detainees. On 3rd January 2019,National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) in South Kordufan State arrested Babikir Ahmed Eltegani, Loai Mohammed, Ali Ahmed, Ibrahim Elhaj, Babikir Ahmed, Fadelalla Elneuairi, Nadir Jabir, Ahmed Elkarar, Ahmed Adam, Ahmed Radi, Bashir Yasin and Mohammed Ahamed Adam from Altartar town(H.K/UA/01/019).They were transported to Kadogli on the same day where they are still detained. They are not allowed to be visited though there was an attempt of visits by Altartar community leader on 4th January 2019 and by their relatives on 17th January 2019. On 22nd January 2019, NISS in Dilling arrested Mr. Mohammed Ahmed, Mr. Mohammed Belal, Mr. Mohammed Edris, Mr. Abdalla Mergani, Mr. Elzain Mohammed and Mr. Saif-Eldin Elhasab (H.K/UA/05/019). Since then they cannot be visited by their families and lawyers. Despite the presidential announcement at Kadogli public rally they are still held incommunicado. HUDO is very concerned about the situation of civilians during this current condition of demonstrations and calls upon;  Sudan government to respect the freedom of expression and assembly.  Sudan government to respect its international obligations of rights.  NISS in Kadogli and Dilling to immediately release the detainees unconditionally. 1
