HUDO Centre 14th January 2019 No. H.K/PR/04/019 Update (30) COURT TRIAL OF AL-SANADRA CASE The court session was held on 9th January 2019 at Khartoum North court before Justice/ Atif Abdalla. It was attended by both lawyers’ panels but the prosecutor and defendants were absent. The judge adjourned the court to 11th February 2019. Summary of the court session The court session was held at Khartoum North court before Justice/ Atif Abdalla. All parties were present except the prosecutor and defendants. Mr. Babikir Abdalla Babikir (Al-Sanadra village’s Sheikh/ Mayor) informed court that all families of the deceased people had agreed on Gasas/ death sentence. Mr. Babikir Abdalla Babikir was delegated by the families of the deceased people to express their opinion to court. Thereafter, the judge announced that, the judicial authority in Khartoum State instructed him to submit the case file and a letter to the presidential office to seek the president’s opinion about the deceased Mr. Ahmed Adam Shambul (Ahmed Adaroub). That he will submit the requested file and wait for the feedback (opinion) for one month. Court was adjourned to 11th February 2019 for hearing the president opinion and delivering of the verdict.
