Nimir Shago, Kara, Um-Kuji, Tarin, Shawa, Al-Fugara are villages in Lagawa locality in Nuba Mountains that is administratively under West Kordufan state. These villages are mainly inhabited by Nuba tribes and hosts some of the displaced Nuba people from Lagawa town from the time was attacked by Arab militia supported by RSF in 2022. HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following: • The West Kordufan State security committee to investigate the tribal target by RSF with an intention to displace them. • The security organs in West Kordufan State to implement security measures for the civilians. • The prosecutor in West Kordufan State to ensure rule of law conducted. • The two warring parties (SAF and RSF) to respect the constitutional rights of civilians.
