Date: 7th December 2020 No. H.K/PS/45/020 PRESS STATEMENT ARMED ROBBERY CASE BY RSF SOLDIERS IN ABU-KERSHOLA, SUDAN On 26thNovember 2020, Mr. Elhaj Mohammed Ahmed was robbed of his motorbike under gun point by four (4) armed people dressed in RSF uniform. The incident took place along the road between Umbrambeta and Elfaid Um-Abdalla. This case was reported to police but the police did not follow up. On 26th November 2020, while Mr. Elhaj Mohammed Ahmed (26 years old) was traveling on his motorbike from Umbrambeta to his home town Elfaid Um-Abdalla, he was obstructed by four armed people dressed in Rapid Support Force (RSF) uniform and were riding two motorbikes..Mr. Elhaj’s motorbike was forcefully taken from him on gun point and he walked all the way up to Elfaid UmAbdalla where he reported the case at police office. Up to date police did not carry out necessary investigations. Umbrembeta and Elfaid Um-Abdalla are towns in Abu-Kershola locality of Nuba Mountains/ South Kordufan State. There is a distance of about 20 km between the two towns. HUDO is very concerned about the situation of civilians and calls upon:  Sudan government to urgently consider the community’s security and rights.  Sudan government to ensure the safety of people and the freedom to exercise their constitutional rights.  Sudan government to hold to account police in Elfaid Um-Abdalla for not executing their duties.
