On 12th July 2025, Sudan Armed Force (SAF) soldiers arrested six (6) youths in Gadeir locality for opposing the misuse of cyanide in gold-mining operations. The arrested youth were transferred to Abu Jibaiha military garrison and released the following day under public pressure. The official given reason was political.
