HUDO Centre Date: 14th April 2025 No.: H.K/UA/02/025 URGENT APPEAL THE JSC ARRESTED MR. JAGDOOL IN DAMAZIN, SUDAN On 6th April 2025, the Joint Security Cell (JSC) arrested Mr. Fateh-Elrahman (Jagdool AbuMurtada) and took him to their detention cell. They did not give a reason for the arrest and since then, he has been kept incommunicado under torture. This raised the fear for his life. On 6th April 2025, the Joint Security Cell (JSC) soldiers in Damazin arrested Mr. Fateh-Elrahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdalla (known as Jagdool Abu-Murtada) from his house without giving a reason. Since then, they have been holding him incommunicado at their detention cell in Roseries Dam building in Damazin town. HUDO Centre got reliable information that, Mr. Jagdool is undergoing torture and currently he is suffering from head injuries but he is denied medical treatment by the captors (JSC). One of the activists in Blue Nile informed HUDO Centre that, “as activists, we all know that the reason behind the arrest of Mr. Jagdool is his strong objection and critical stance on the misconduct and corruption implemented by the state authority”. HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:  The JSC to immediately stop torturing Mr. Fateh-Elrahman and allow him to access medical care.  The JSC in Blue Nile State to immediately and unconditionally release Mr. Fateh-Elrahman or send him to the court of law.  The security committee in Blue Nile State to investigate the circumstances that led to the arrest of Mr. Fateh-Elrahman and make the report public.  The JSC to stop arresting civilians arbitrarily.
