All the arrested youths are active in the emergency rooms which provides assistance and food for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and vulnerable people. Mr. Alfadel Saeed Elsanhouri is a journalist from Kadogli, currently residing in Kampala-Uganda. He has been regularly writing a series of articles about corruption within the South Kordofan government, titled "The Rot of Kadogli." In his latest article, he addressed the corruption of the governor and the minister of health. That is how and why their phones are searched. The security forces in Kadogli routinely arrest youth activists in Kadogli, for example: On 3rd May 2025, soldiers from the Joint Security Cell (JSC) arrested six (6) youth activists and detained them at JSC detention in Kadogli. They accused the youth of providing information to the journalist. On 4th May 2025, four (4) of the youth were released, and the other two (2) were transferred to the (SAF) garrison in Kadogli, where they remained held incommunicado up to date, which causes fear that they could be undergoing torture.
