HUDO Centre Date: 6th January 2025 No.: H.K/PS/01/025 PRESS STATEMENT (For Immediate Release) RSF SHOT AND KILLED TWO MEN NEAR ELFAID UM-MABDALLA, SUDAN On 19th December 2024, masked Rapid Support Force soldiers shot and killed Mr. Omar and Mr. Osman at Hajar Yassin place near Elfaid Um-Abdalla. The case was reported to Elfaid Um-Abdulla police, but the police refused to take action. On 19th December 2024, six (6) armed and masked persons in Rapid Support Force uniform who were riding on three (3) motorcycles shot and killed Mr. Omer Rabeh Mohammed (49 years) and Mr. Osman Ibrahim Mohammed Gibreil. The killed (victims) were also riding a tuk-tuk within Hajar Yassin. After killing them, the perpetrators fled the scene. The dead bodies were carried on a tuk-tuk to Elfaid Um-Abdalla and buried after the incident was reported at Elfaid Um-Abdalla police. But the police informed relatives of the deceased that they (police) were unable to move to the scene of the incident. Mr. Omer Rabeh Mohammed (married and father of seven children) together with Mr. Osman Ibrahim Mohammed Gibreil are both from the Hausa tribe. The area Hajar Yassin is 15 km west of Elfaid UmAbdalla. Elfaid Um-Abdalla is small town in Abu-Kershola locality in South Kordofan State/ Nuba Mountains. HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:  The Sudanese Armed Forces in South Kordofan State/ Nuba Mountains to take the necessary measures to protect the civilians.  The police in Elfaid Um-Abdalla to conduct their duties responsibly and investigate this case.  The prosecutor in South Kordofan State to ensure that there is rule of law.  The RSF to stop targeting the civilians.
