HUDO Centre Date: 17th August 2022 No.: H.K/PS/43/022 PRESS STATEMENT CIVILIAN SHOT AND INJURED BY UNIDENTIFIED PERSON IN KOJOURIA, SUDAN On 14th July 2022, unidentified person shot and injured Mr. Mubarak Hamid while he was asleep in his house. The incident happened in Kojouria village. This case was reported at Dilling police but, there was no response from Police. On 14th July 2022 night, while Mr. Mubarak Hamid was sleeping in his house in Kojouria village, he was shot in the left thigh by unidentified person. The victim’s family members rushed him to Dilling hospital where he received medical treatment. This case was reported by the victim’s family at Dilling police but, the police did not carry out investigations. Mr. Mubarak Hamid (23 years old) is a farmer and resident of Kojouria village. Kojouria is a village is 35 km West of Dilling town/ the capital of Dilling Locality of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon;  Police in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to execute their duties responsibly and to immediately investigate this case.  The prosecutor in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law.  The security committee in South Kordufan state to dissolve and disarm militias and safeguard the civilians.
