More information Immediately after the war broke out in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains by June 2011, MI and NISS launched a raid campaign in which hundreds of people were executed extra-judicially, others were forced disappeared and thousands were arrested and held in very bad detention conditions. They were denied any family or lawyers visits and whoever asked had to experience arrests and bad treatment. Since the former president was overthrown in April 2019 by a peaceful civil revolution (Freedom, Peace and Justice), it has been replaced by TMC which announced a number of release pardon-orders:  On 11th April 2019, the former head of TMC, lieutenant general/ Awad Ibn Auf announced a release pardon for all detainees.  On 13th April 2019, the head of TMC, lieutenant general/ Abdel Fattah al-Burhan announced their commitment towards international treaties of human rights.  On 3rd July 2019, the head of TMC, lieutenant general/ Abdel Fattah al-Burhan announced a release pardon for all prisoners of war, in which by 4th July 2019, two hundred and thirty five (235) prisoners of war from Darfur armed groups were released.
