HUDO Centre Date: 18th August 2025 No.: H.K/PS/31/025 PRESS STATEMENT SAF SOLDIERS ROBBED AND KILLED MR. HAMID HAROUN IN KADOGLI, SUDAN On 1st July 2025, armed soldiers from the Sudan Armed Force (SAF) in Kadogli entered Mr. Hamid Haroun's home, looted food stuff from his store and shot him dead. The incident was reported at Kadogli police, but there were no exhaustive investigations made. On 1st July 2025 at mid night, armed Sudan Armed Force (SAF) soldiers in their uniform entered Mr. Hamid Haroun's home in the Masanea neighborhood in Kadogli city and robbed food stuff from his store. The victim (Mr. Hamid Haroun) moved out of his room to check what was happening, and one of the gunmen shot him on the head and killed him instantly. The perpetrators took the stolen food stuff and fled the scene of crime. This incident was reported to Kadogli Central Police office by his family, but no investigation was carried out to disclose and arrest the perpetrators. Mr. Hamid Haroun (36 years old), is from Fulani tribe and he is a trader. He owned a shop in Kadogli market. Because of insecurity and the fact that the market was looted before, Mr. Hamid Haroun used to transport his goods (food items) from the market to his home store. This attracted the perpetrators to attack him at home. Kadogli is the Capital of South Kordofan State/ Nuba Mountains. HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:  The security committee in Kadogli to protect the civilians and their property.  The police in Kadogli to conduct their duties responsibly and investigate this case.  The prosecutor in South Kordufan State to ensure that there is rule of law.  SAF in Kadogli to control and punish undisciplined soldiers End: For more information, please write to hudo2009@gmail.com
