HUDO Centre Date: 26th July 2021 No.: H.K/PS/45/021 PRESS STATEMENT SAF SOLDIERS ATTACKED AT A CHECKPOINT BY UNKNOWN ARMED PEOPLE IN KADOGLI, SUDAN On 30th June 2021, a group of unknown armed people attacked a checkpoint near Kadogli airport which resulted into death of one SAF soldier while two other soldiers managed to escape the scene. The attackers seized some firearms and disappeared. On 30thJune 2021 at around 8:00 PM (Sudan time), three Sudan Armed Force (SAF) Soldiers were attacked by unknown people at a checkpoint near Kadogli airport. One SAF soldier by names of Tameim Mohammed Adam was killed while the other two soldiers managed to flee/ escape the scene. The attackers seized two RPG guns, two machineguns and some ammunition. The attackers disappeared and no one has been caught up to date. HUDO got reliable information that, the attacked checkpoint has five soldiers however two of them were absent during the attack time. Mr. Tameim Mohammed Adam (27 years old) was a SAF soldier. Kadogli is the capital city of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. HUDO is very concerned about the security situation in conflict areas; and calls upon;  Sudan government to address the state of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains genuinely. .  Sudan government to conduct serious measures in combating the militias and gangs.  Sudan government to dissolve government militias and disarm people with unlicensed firearms.
