HUDO Centre Date: 9th November 2021 No.: H.K/PS/66/021 PRESS STATEMENT TWO PASTORALISTS SHOT DEAD BY RSF SOLDIERS IN ELFAID, SUDAN On 5th November 2021, Mr. Mohammed Omer and Mr. Mohammed Elhaj were shot dead and their money robbed by four armed and masked RSF soldiers on Motorbikes in Elfaid UmAbdalla. The murder case was reported at Elfaid Um-Abdalla police but, the police did not act or respond. On 5th November 2021,while Mr. Mohammed Omer Gamar-Buba and Mr. Mohammed Elhaj Omer were on their way back (to their nomad camp) from Elfaid Um-Abdalla market, four armed and masked men dressed in Rapid Support Force (RSF) uniform and riding two motorbikes obstructed them. The assailants shot the two men and took away their money. People from the neighbouring houses witnessed the incident and took the two victims to the hospital but they died along the way. A case was reported to Elfaid Um-Abdalla police but, no investigation was carried out. Mr. Mohammed Omer Gamar-Buba was 54 years old and Mr. Mohammed Elhaj Omer was 34 years old. Both are Pastoralists from Folani/ Falata tribe and their nomad camp is about 4 km southwest Elfaid Um-Abdalla town. Elfaid Um-Abdalla is small town in Abu-Kershola Locality of South Kordufan State/Nuba Mountains. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon;  Police in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to execute their duties responsibly and to apprehend the perpetrators.  The national, international organizations and UN agencies to pay attention to the conflict areas especially during this time of the military coup.
