• Aerial bombarding of SPLA-N controlled areas in South Kordofan still continues, and some ereas around Abu Kershola . • On 14 June, SPLA-N captured Hajar Animir garrison, which is very close to Kadugli. There was also shelling of Kadugli for four days during CECAVA football competition. • As a result of Um Rawaba and Abu Kershola attacks, food commodities and fuel passing to South Kordofan State are strictly monitored and owners have to obtain permission from the security authority before boarding any item to those areas. A big check point has been established in Um Rawaba for this purpose. This has led to dramatic increase in prices of these items in the state, especially the fuel, which will definitely impose a great threat to the agricultural season in the area. Political developments There have been severe political and security tensions during the month of May resulted into June conflicting statements about the allege negotiations between the two disputes parties (SPLM- N and Sudan Government). Despite the announcement of the SPLM / N Secretary General of their willingness to go for the negotiation, Khartoum government state that they will not attend. On the other hand the opposition parties in Khartoum have launch a hundred- day plan to eradicate the regime, which has started on 30/6/2013. The situation is further complicated when the president of the state declared that they will stop pumping South Sudan petroleum. This led to soaring of all basic commodities and fuel prices. Following that, the government of South Sudan reported that they were attacked by Sudan Army along the borders . On 26/6/2013 the Sudanese parliament endorsed new amendment to military law that allows military courts to try civilians. This has been considered by many lawyers, human rights activists and concerned bodies as a severe violation of the constitutional law. Furthermore, authorities also suggested another amendment in the national compulsory military service law, that give the Ministry of Defense the power to call upon and recruit any civilian when ever needed or there is hostility. Christians are still targeted and continue to suffer discrimination, on 25th June, police authorities attacked the headquarter of the Presbyterian Church. II
