HUDO Centre Date: 28th February 2022 No.: H.K/PS/11/022 PRESS STATEMENT PDF SOLDIERS ASSAULTED A HERDSMAN AND TOOK AWAY HIS SHEEP IN KHOR-ELDELEIB, SUDAN On 24th February 2022, two armed PDF soldiers assaulted a herdsman and forcefully took one of his sheep in Khor-Eldeleib. The case was reported at Khor-Eldeleib police but, there was no response. On 24th February 2022, two armed men in People Defense Force (PDF) uniform riding a motorbike attacked and beaten with steaks Mr. Haroun Suliman Ambiela while he was grazing his sheep in Khor-Eldeleib. They put him on gun point and took away (drove away) one of his sheep. Mr. Haroun later reported the case at Khor-Eldeleib police but police did not respond. Mr. Haroun Suliman Ambeila (40 years old) is a cattle keeper (herdsman) in Khor-Eldeleib. KhorEldeleib is a small town in Abu-Kershola locality of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon;  Police in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to execute their duties responsibly and to immediately investigate this case.  The prosecutor in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law.  The security committee in South Kordufan state to dissolve and disarm militias and ensure the safety of civilians.
