HUDO Centre Date: 10th June 2025 No.: H.K/PS/22/025 PRESS STATEMENT RSF KILLED THE IMAM OF A MOSQUE IN ELFAID UM-ABDALLA, SUDAN On 31st March 2025, RSF soldiers shot and killed Imam/ Abdullah at his house after he had refused to comply with their order to hand over his valuable items. This murder case was reported at Elfaid Um-Abdulla police, but the police did not respond. On 31st March 2025 night at 2:00AM, three (3) armed soldiers dressed in Rapid Support Force (RSF) uniform came riding a motorbike and entered the house of Imam/ Mr. Abdullah Abker. They put him on gunpoint and instructed him to hand over his valuable stuff in the house. He refused and they subsequently shot him in the chest and killed him. After killing him, they fled the scene. The murder case was reported at Elfaid Um-Abdulla police by his family members. But up to date, the police have not carried out investigations to disclose and apprehend the perpetrators. Mr. Abdulla Abker Shargania was 66 years old, from Hausa tribe. He was the Imam (religious leader) of Elfaid Um-Abdulla Mosque. Elfaid Um-Abdulla is a small town in Abu-Kershola locality in South Kordofan State /Nuba Mountains. HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following;  The security committee in Abu-Kershola locality to carry out their duty of protecting civilians and their property.  The prosecutor in South Kordufan state/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law.  The police in Elfaid Um-Abdulla locality to conduct their duties responsibly and investigate this case.
