HUDO Centre Date: 1st May 2025 No.: H.K/UA/03/025 URGENT APPEAL HAC TERMINATED THE ACTIVITIES OF NGOs IN KADOGLI, SUDAN On 22nd April 2025, the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) in South Kordufan stopped the operations (work) of civil society organisations (NGOs & CBOs) without giving a reason. This directive affected negatively the city residents and IDPs especially those that were entirely depending on the humanitarian assistance. On 22nd April 2025, five (5) INGOs and about fifteen (15) national NGOs and CBOs in Kadogli received letters from the commissioner of HAC instructing them to stop their activities (operations) until further notice. No reason was given in the letter for this decision. In response, the administrators of the NGOs tried to reach out (contact) to the HAC commissioner in order to discuss the reason behind his decision. However, the commissioner could not be reached. Because of this directive, the situation is critical since many people in Kadogli town (residents and IDPs) rely more on the humanitarian aid provided by the NGOs. Nonetheless, recently new IDPs arrived in Kadogli town from Dameek and Hillat Barno villages after Rapid Support Force (RSF) captured Algawareer village on 26th April 2025. The affected/ halted INGOs are: 1. Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) 2. World Vision (WV) 3. Danish Refugee Council (DRC) 4. International Medical Corps (IMC) 5. Goal Global The affected national NGOs/ CBOs are: 1) Youth for development (Shabab Leltanmeya) 2) Youth for our country/ home (Shabab Min Ajel Beladna) 3) South Kordufan Women (Nesaa Janub Kordufan) 4) Assist organization (Assist)
