HUDO Centre Date: 10th September 2019 No. H.K/UA/17/019 URGENT ACTION ARREST OF ELTOUM OSMAN BY RSF IN HAJAR-JAWAD, SUDAN On 9th September 2019, Mr. Eltoum Osman was brutally arrested by RSF soldiers in HajarJawad of South Kordufan State and taken to unknown place. No reason was given for his arrest and his whereabouts are still unknown. He is likely to be under torture. Mr. Eltoum Osman,58 years old is a farmer. Hajar-Jawad is a village in Nuba Mountains/ South Kordufan in a distance of around 15 km south Dilling town. On 9th September 2019 towards 4:00 pm, a group of fourteen (14) armed soldiers dressed in Rapid Support Force (RSF) uniform came on two vehicles with RSF number plates to Mr. Eltoum’s house in Hajar-Jawad village. They arrested him after beating him with sticks and lashes for unknown reason, then they moved towards Alkurgul town direction. There is no confirmed information about his whereabouts which raises the fear that he could be undergoing torture. HUDO is very concerned about Mr. Eltoum’s life as well as other civilians facing the same fate since RSF become the dominant force in Sudan. HUDO calls upon;  Sudan government to immediately disclose the whereabouts of Mr. Eltoum Osman  Sudan government to unconditionally release or send him to courts of law.  Sudan government to end the state of emergency which enables Sudan armed forces and its militias to carry out arrests at will.  Sudan government to stop any kind of discriminative acts towards the citizens from conflict areas committed by security forces and militias.  Sudan government to respect its international obligations towards their citizens.
