SAF ARRESTED MR. NEYAZI ADAM IN ROSERIES, SUDAN
On 9th November 2023, Sudan Armed Force (SAF) in Roseries released Mr. Neyazi Adam Khaleil
with conditions. This happened after detaining him incommunicado for more than a week.
On 9th November 2023, Mr. Neyazi Adam Khaleil was released from the military (SAF) detention. While
in detention, Mr.Neyazi was interrogated about his relationship with Rapid Support Force (RSF) and
his communication with Mr. Durgham Abu-Shotal (the son of Mac. Abu-Shotal who had joined RSF).
Mr. Neyazi was released because of the intervention of the community leader (Mac Elfateh) who kept
on inquiring about him. SAF released Mr. Neyazi after warning him in the presence of the community
leader that “he should not to communicate with his friends who joined RSF or with anyone within RSF”.
Mr. Neyazi Adam was arrested by SAF on 30th October 2023 in Roseries and kept incommunicado up
to the date of his release. His relatives together with the community leader kept on inquiring about his
whereabouts from SAF barracks up to the day he was released.
HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting
between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:
The Sudan Armed Force (SAF) to immediately and unconditionally release other civilians under
their detention.
The commander of SAF in Blue Nile state to investigate the circumstances that led to the arrest
of Mr. Neyazi Adam and make the findings public.
The Sudanese Armed Forces to stop the arrest of civilians.
