PRESS STATEMENT
MURDER OF MR. ABDALLA BY UNKNOWN PERSON IN KADOGLI, SUDAN
On 17th March 2025, unidentified armed person shot and killed Mr. Abdalla Al-Nayer in Kadogli.
The reason behind the murder could be armed robbery. The incident was reported at Kadogli
police but police did not respond.
On 17th March 2025 at around 19:30 (Sudan local time), Mr. Abdalla Al-Nayer Abdalla was going back
to his house after attending Ramadan Iftar (fast break) in Murta North neighbourhood in Kadogli town.
He was moving together with his younger brother and two nieces. Along the road, they were stopped
by a person (stranger) who called him out by his name (Abdalla). When this person got closer to them,
he shot Mr. Abdalla on his chest and killed him instantly.
The three children fled (ran) to their house and informed the family members who rushed to the crime
scene and found Mr. Abdalla dead and his phone disappeared with the perpetrator. The family reported
the case (murder) against anonymous to Murta North police post but up to date police did not conduct
any investigations to disclose the perpetrator.
Mr. Abdalla Al-Nayer Abdalla (27 years old) was from Nuba tribe and a known football player. Murta
North is located on the northern part of Kadogli town (the capital city of South Kordufan state/ Nuba
Mountains).
HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting
between SAF and RSF and calls for the following;
The security committee in Kadogli locality to protect civilians and their property.
The prosecutor in South Kordufan state/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law.
The police in Kadogli locality to conduct their duties responsibly and investigate this case.
The security committee in South Kordufan state/ Nuba Mountains to investigate the police
especially where they fail or refuse to conduct their duties.
