THE JSC ARRESTED MR. JAGDOOL IN DAMAZIN, SUDAN
On 30th April 2025, the Joint Security Cell (JSC) released Mr. Fateh-Elrahman (Jagdool AbuMurtada) who was arrested on 6th April 2025. By the time he was released, he was in a bad/poor
health condition (physical and psychological).
On 6th April 2025, the Joint Security Cell (JSC) soldiers in Damazin arrested Mr. Fateh-Elrahman
Mohammed Ahmed Abdalla (known as Jagdool Abu-Murtada) from his house without giving a reason.
He was held incommunicado at their detention cell in Roseries Dam building in Damazin town.
On 30th April 2025, Mr. Jagdool was released in bad health condition (psychological and physical).
Interestingly, on 3rd May Mr. Jagdool published an article in his Facebook account apologizing for his
family and declaring that, he was quitting any political or social activities. He also announced that, he
will leave Sudan and seek refuge in another country (which he did not name).
HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of
fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:
The security committee in Blue Nile State to investigate the circumstances that led to the arrest
of Mr. Fateh-Elrahman and make the report public.
The JSC to stop arresting civilians arbitrarily.
Sudan government to respect the civilians’ constitution rights.
