Case Background
On 19th August 2020, the SRCS secretary general issued a dismissal order for Kadogli
SRCS manager but, he had resisted complying with the order. On 20 September 2020,
the SRCS management issued other announcement (appendix - 1) warning the public
about the dismissal order and informing the public that he is no longer representative of
the SRCS in Kadogli. Again he did not comply, but he remained in office which
prompted the workers/ employees to write a letter to the state governor informing him
about the situation and their willing to conduct a peaceful demonstration against the act
of the dismissed manager. However, there was a committee formed on 28th August
2020 for handling the office to the new manager but the dismissal manager refused
even to sit with the committee.
Basing on these reasons, on 3rd December 2020, the SRCS workers organized a
protest at the SRCS building during the working hours.
Three days after (6th December 2020) the police carried out the arrests using the SRCS
vehicle2 which was driven by the dismissed manger.
Lastly, on 25th December 2020, the dismissed manager handed over the office to the
new manager through a formed committee.
