report indicated that his death was a result of seven bullet wounds (he was shot on his head and chest). Thereafter, the police handed over the dead body to the relatives and it was buried. The police filed the murder case against anonymous. On 25th September 2020, the residents (where the victim was living)protested and closed/ obstructed the road in Kadogli. They demanded that the perpetrators should be apprehended and face the law. This protest inconvenienced travelers who were moving to and from Kadogli since the road is the main highway that connects Kadogli town with the rest of Sudan. The protest ended on 26 th September 2020 after the community leader (Mr. Kafi Tayara) addressed the protestors. 2.2.28 Assassination of a student in Dilling On 5thOctober 2020 at midnight, Mr. Abuzar Abass (23 years old) a student at Dilling University and his brothers were sleeping at their parent’s house at Almac neighbourhood in Dilling town. Someone knocked at their gate while calling Abuzar’s name. He went out to open the gate and he was immediately shot twice on the head. When the other brothers heard the gunshots, they ran to the gate only to find Abuzar dead and nobody was at the scene. The family members took the dead body to the town hospital for postmortem. The postmortem report confirmed that the cause of death was the two bullet shots on his head. The family buried Abuzar’s body and reported the murder case at Dilling police against anonymous. 2.2.29 Two farmers shot dead and one injured by RSF near Kadogli On 2ndDecember 2020, farmers (cultivators) in Elefain village found cattle grazing on their crops. They pushed the cattle out of their farms to the cattle holding site (Zareiba) 7. On their way back, a group of armed people dressed in RSF uniform shot and killed two people/ farmers. The names of the dead are Mr. Nasir Nimir Teeya and Mr. AbdallaKanu. The third farmer (Mr. Hassan Kanu) was badly injured in the neck and 7 Zareiba is a word used in Sudan for animals holding place that violate any person’s property. Ordinarily, the owner should pay a fine/ penalty before collecting the animals. 27
